Before I begin however, there is a security update I strongly urge you to consider installing on any servers. This post here sums it up well.
This was released on 22nd of August. To apply this cumulative update package, you must be running SQL Server 2014 RTM. So it is pertinent for versions 12.0.2000 – 12.0.2370 / 12.0.2381, depending whether you have installed the Security Update I touched upon above.
The build number of the cumulative update package is 12.0.2402.0. You may have to restart the computer after you apply this cumulative update package. The cumulative update package updates only those components currently installed.
This CU contains 32 fixes, some of the highlights for me are;
2978472 FIX: UPDATE or INSERT statement on CCI makes sys.partitions not match actual row count in SQL Server 2014
2981764 FIX: Cannot create indexed view on a clustered columnstore index and BCP on the table fails in SQL Server 2014
2975434 FIX: Error when you complete an SSAS 2014 image after specifying a non-default root directory
